Grant and Loan Applications

Farmers Irrigation District submitted their application to the State of Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for their Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWRF) Program as a Nonpoint Source Project (NPS) for Design or Construction projects.

The CWRF NPS funds are primarily for the completion of projects to install enclosed pipelines to replace remaining open ditches and canals in the District collection and distribution system. The most urgent of these projects are the completion of the balance of the Lower District Pressurization Project (LDPP), Methodist Road Pump Station Ditch Replacement Project, and the DeBorde-Hood River Parks and Recreation Pressurization Project. Also included in this project are the Lowline Canal Pipe Project and the Farmers Canal Pipe Project. A priority for the Hood River Watershed Group is to promote the replacement of open ditches with new, long-life pipe, as this actively addresses water quality issues.
